also, if you have a gmail.com account, you can use it to handle any of your pop3 accounts, so you get their great spam filtering as well. |

1. if it's filtered correctly it goes to specific folders [and performs specific actions] so i know who to answer first or read second or whatever. the spam goes to the trash.
1a. if spam goes through and it ends up in my general folder...[my general folder's for newsletters and etc. i have signed up for]...i may or may not set another filter. i usually delete it. it takes a crappa lot of spam for me to bother with the filters. but the bat makes it easy.
2. i label my folders specifically.
3. automate functions. some folders that mail goes to is informational only...like site stats so i set it to mark it as read. i have affiliate reports sent to me and so it goes to the folder and appends to a text file elsewhere to keep a running tally of monies from particular websites, companies, ventures, affiliates, etc.
4. have a SAVED folder for more important stuff. An OLD folder for fond memories.
for me, it's about organization. |

How do you prioritize time to process it? |

well. sometimes i might read them but i have to have spare time. i don't do well with prioritizing time. i always seem to do whatever is in front of me; everything else is tertiary including reading the emails. :)

| alikl | Jan 16, 8:15am | digits, good feedback. I am actually in research how people handle their tasks pipeline. I see many people have hard times to prioritize. Including me. So i am trying to collect helpful techniques. What i do is creating buckets of emails, each bucket is kind of project to make the emails relative withing the bucket. I pro actively block time for either bucket - the one i decide to invest in, then drill into the bucket of emails and pick most significant - urgent, impactful, etc. al the rest in the bucket gets lower priority
